Directions:
Cut the whole chicken into 8 pieces. Set aside.
Mix all of the ingredients for the rub in a small bowl.
Generously coat the chicken with the rub, place in a large container and cover. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.
To make the BBQ sauce pour all of the ingredients into a medium size sauce pot. Cook over low heat stirring frequently for 15-20 minutes. Separate the BBQ sauce into two bowls for serving and basting.
Heat an outdoor grill or grill pan to a medium heat. Grill chicken for 10-15 minutes per side basting frequently with the reserved BBQ sauce. Chicken will be fully cooked when a thermometer registers 165°F when inserted into the center.
Serve with reserved BBQ sauce. Enjoy!
