Baked Plantain Chips
Yield: 4-6 Cooking Time: 40 Difficulty: Easy Full Episode: Island Adventure! (Season 3)


  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF.
  2. Carefully peel the plantains.
  3. Diagonally slice the plantains as thin as possible. Try to make all the slices the same width.
  4. Place the sliced plantains in water with the lime juice and soak for 15 minutes.
  5. Dry well and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Using a pastry brush, evenly coat both sides of the plantains with olive oil and season with salt.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes in oven turning once during the cooking. When ready, the chips should be slightly curled on the edges and golden brown.
  8. Garnish with lime wedges.
